Laptops, notebooks and netbooks are often left plugged in via the power adapter, the problem arises becuase they are often left in a darkened room, perhaps on the edge of the lounge, chair, bed or coffee table.

The cable runs along the floor and is just waiting to be tripped over. Unfortunatley the amount of current needed to charge a laptop is beyond our wireless ability although some devices can now be powered by induction tables (Although I know of nobody who has one)

So the cable gets tripped over and next day the socket is either loose or broken, the power adapter is bent over by 30 degrees and the laptop will only charge if kept at the right angle if at all.
